Sending email using SMTP
Due to the need for more secure and spam free communications between our customers and their websites, we have decided to no longer support CDONT's and phpmail(). These previous components were either difficult to configure or lacking in features.
We have installed and now fully support AspEmail and SoftArtisans SMTP. Both AspEmail and Softartisans SMTP allow secure SMTP authenticated communications between a user and their form by sending the email through an actual account.
As part of this migration, we have supplied three mailing scripts in text format that you may find useful:
Persits.MailSender: Includes a simple ASP that sends the infomation through an email account specified.
Phpmailer: A PHP form that allows the user to customise what information is extracted from the content form before it is sent through an authenticated email account.
Contact_form: A fully fledged PHP contact form that checks the form content for spam, sending an email only it if meets predefined rules.
Each of the scripts above can be configured to your needs by changing the details marked out. They will require a working email account, which can be created through your control panel. We recommend creating an outbound@yourdomain.com email account especially for this task.
