Setting Up Your E-mail in Mozilla Thunderbird

This tutorial shows you how to set up Thunderbird to work with your e-mail account.

This tutorial uses Microsoft Outlook Express, but these settings are similar in other versions of Thunderbird . You can set up other versions of Thunderbird by using the settings in this tutorial.

  1. In Thunderbird, select Tools > Accounts Settings. mozilla-thunderbird-pop3
  2. Selet the Add Account and then click "OK" email thunderbird pop3
  3. Selet Email account then Next email thunderbird pop3
  4. On the Internet Connection Wizaed window, enter your information as follows.
  5. Click "Next" email thunderbird pop3
  6. Make sure POP is selected as server type. Then enter your incoming mail server. e.g. mail.domain-name.co.uk
  7. Then Click the Next Button. email thunderbird pop3
  8. Then enter details for incoming user name and outgoing user name.
  9. This been your full case sensitive email address. Then click Next. email thunderbird pop3
  10. Enter a name so you can relate to it if you add more accounts in the future e.g. work email, home email, John's Account; then click Next. email Thunderbird pop3
  11. Review settings and click finish. email Thunderbird pop3
