Setting Up Your Core FTP

This tutorial shows you how to set up a FTP (file transfer program) with your hosting account.

This tutorial uses Core FTP, but these settings are similar in other FTP programs. You can set up other FTP programs by using the settings in this tutorial.

  1. First down load the software HERE. More infomation on the product which is free can be found HERE
  2. Once installed click Sites- Site Manager.

    Enter your FTP details like shown below but replacing them with yours. and then click connect.

    Once you have clicked Connect the below screen will appear.

    On the left local files what you wish to upload and on the right the remote files on the server which will be viewed on the internet.

    1 This button uploads selected files from your local hard disk.

    2 This button lets you go up a level in folders.

    3 This area shows files been uloaded or qued to be uploaded.
